Everybody is a genius,
but if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree,
it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.

Why choose online tuition from Emily Allmond?

    • Do they have unique learning needs and requirements that are not being met?

    • Do they suffer from anxiety?

    • Are they struggling with homework?

    • Do they panic in exams?

  • With hourly rates from £60 per hour, which include a personalised, 1:1 tutoring session from an experienced professional with a track record of raising the confidence and attainment of pupils whose needs are not being met in the classroom.

Having worked in education for over twenty years, I have seen first hand that one size doesn’t fit all. I know what a difference bespoke teaching makes to a child’s progress, confidence and future. Of course, most schools and teachers are working as hard as they can in challenging circumstances, but by giving your child private tuition from an experienced and well-qualified specialist, you are investing in their future.

My belief

I firmly believe that all children have the right to a good education and that their specific learning difficulties or social and emotional needs shouldn’t prevent them from realising their potential.

My expertise in teaching children from Year 5 to Year 11, including many years working with neurodiverse children, will ensure that your child receives the support, guidance and attention they need to succeed.

As well as being a teacher of Key Stages 2-5 in UK schools, I am also a qualified and experienced teacher of English as an additional language, and welcome pupils of all ages to my online EAL tutoring sessions.

My approach

My approach is simple: by building confidence, I unlock potential.

I use my vast experience of classroom teaching, a broad range of resources and activities, along with my passion for education, to ensure pupils are comfortable and enjoy my lessons, thus enabling them to achieve great things. My online lessons are imaginative, challenging and stimulating both for neurotypical and neurodiverse pupils. They are pitched and paced at the appropriate level to provide the vital reinforcement and embedding of ideas necessary for each pupil to succeed in a range of exams, from 11 plus and entrance exams to GCSEs. Independent school interview practice, handwriting focus and reading support sessions are also available.

My service

Prior to starting any online tuition sessions, I meet all parents/guardians on an online video call to ensure we agree on the needs and expectations of the sessions. It’s also important for me to meet your child in the same way, to introduce myself and ask them what they hope to achieve and how they like to learn. Parents/guardians are required to be present during all online tutoring sessions for safeguarding reasons, but, rest assured, I will share my DBS certificate with you when you sign up. Frequent reviewing of targets and sharing regular feedback is all part of my service.
